OpenGround Cloud is a state of the art geotechnical knowledge management system that will help you stay in control of your geotechnical project data and archive.
OpenGround Cloud’s unique features allow you to manage your data throughout the lifetime of a project and access historical information alongside your current project, transforming the way you archive and manage site investigation.
OpenGround Cloud also allows you to produce logs, reports, charts and interpretations of your data within seconds and is scalable to suit both small contractors and large multinational consultants.
OpenGround Cloud’s extension for AutoCAD® Civil 3D allows quick and easy inclusion of all your geotechnical data in the BIM process and CAD drawings.
One of the core reasons for using OpenGround Cloud is its fast and simple to use presentation, analysis and reporting tools.
No more wasting time or fighting with multiple PDF files as OpenGround Cloud makes report production easy and fast. Simply select all the locations you wish to include in your report and OpenGround Cloud will print them to a single PDF file or print run with just two clicks. It will ensure that each type of hole is printed on the right template file and at the correct scale for you.
The ability to view your borehole data in section view greatly enhances your understanding of the site but this technique is often underused due to the time it takes to produce sections. If sections only took 15 seconds to complete how many would you have produced for your last project? The answer is always “as many as I needed” and this is where the Quick Sections in OpenGround Cloud really starts to add value to your system. Draw a line on the site plan or select the holes from a list and click the Quick Section icon. OpenGround Cloud performs the rest and draws a print ready section within 5 seconds. You can even decide what additional data you would like to include alongside each section strip, so adding SPT, CPT or coring information is quick and easy.
Each data view in OpenGround Cloud can be filtered, ordered and grouped so you can easily find the data you are looking for. Finding out which boreholes have ash in them, or where the peat is on site for example will only take you less than a minute. You can create groups of boreholes to help you zone the site and use these groups to run one of the many built in data views to help you determine the depth of strata or numbers of samples. If the view you require is not yet in your system then let us know and we will send you a component file to include it.
OpenGround Cloud includes a mapping interface that allows you to see the location of your boreholes in the real world location or on your local grid. The mapping application allows you to import your own mapping files or connect to external mapping servers enabling you to maximize the use of any historical knowledge. OpenGround Cloud also allows you to highlight and theme borehole locations based on any parameter within the hole, thus reducing the need for expensive GIS systems to run alongside your application.
OpenGround Cloud allows you to export any data view to a CSV file with the click of a button. However our integration with Microsoft Excel goes much further than that. The OpenGround Cloud Manager license connects your spreadsheet directly to OpenGround Cloud, allowing you to not only gather the information you want, but also to set filters and conditions so that you only display the data you need.
OpenGround Cloud integrates closely with AutoCAD Civil 3D either through the OpenGround Cloud Integrator Persona or the Autodesk Geotechnical Module (included with the Infrastructure Design Suite subscription). Project data in OpenGround Cloud can be used to generate and visualize models in AutoCAD in seconds, creating 3D surfaces of geology, 3D boreholes, in fact any down hole data can be displayed as either XYZ point groups or Civil 3D surfaces and profile and even dynamic sections can be created.
The integration is dynamic. As changes are made to OpenGround Cloud, a quick refresh in AutoCAD Civil 3D updates the model, borehole sticks and profiles. The powerful features of AutoCAD Civil 3D can be used to edit and manipulate the geological surfaces. Any edits are maintained and kept if the model updates with new data from OpenGround Cloud.
OpenGround Cloud and AutoCAD Civil 3D combine to generate and maintain comprehensive 3D models of the geology that can be integrated with any other project designed data.
